DESCRIPTION
The Clients retained us to design substantial alterations to their home after observing the construction of one of our renovation projects. The Clients’ main concern was that all modifications be in harmony with their traditional Jefferson Colonial house, which is situated on a beautiful three-acre piece of property in the heart of horse country. The project included the addition of a Library, Family and Billiard Rooms, and a Dressing Room for the Master Bedroom.
In order to balance the existing garage wing on the left side of the house the Library extension was placed on the right flank of the structure, with the Master Dressing Room above; the Family Room was placed along the rear with floor to ceiling double hung windows that maximize the views of the backyard; new decks on either side of the Family Room were added to provide usable exterior space for the main floor, which sits one story above the backyard; an elegant Billiard Room was designed under the Library, and the area under the new Family Room was made into a bright and airy Exercise Room that opens onto the backyard.
